World Blockchain Hackaton to Award $100,000 at Babylon Project Event

San Francisco, September 3, 2020 — World Blockchain Hackathon, a 100% community-funded global organization dedicated to inspiring and democratizing awareness and access to global innovation in blockchain & data science, today announced significant incentives and updates for this year’s event “The Babylon Project”, a 3-day virtual event taking place on October 9-11, 2020.

Expecting to attract more than 3000 participants and 100 mentors from 50 countries, The Babylon Project 2020 in partnership with Aves Lair will award more than $100,000 to the winning teams, plus 12 weeks of business and tech acceleration as ongoing support. The 2020 World Blockchain event will also award additional prizes to other notable winning concepts, innovations and projects as assessed by this year’s more than 60 judges.

“In January LinkedIn named Blockchain and Artificial Intelligence as top skills for 2020. By partnering with Hired.com we are creating a global village of vibrant, innovative entrepreneurs who gain opportunity to showcase their skills, real-world projects and applications with the aim of attracting sought-after employment,” said San Francisco-based founder Gideon Nweze. “We envision projects emerging from the World Blockchain Hackathon will attract the crucial pre-seed funding entrepreneurs require to evolve into successful startups.”

Leading up to the World Blockchain Hackathon is Idea Generation Masterclass, a free pre-event on September 18, 2020, offered in collaboration with the Digital Value Capture® Academy, an institution led by Stephen Alexander, Adjunct Professor at the Hult International Business School London campus and creator of the course “Applied Business Blockchain, Realising Value.”

The Idea Generation Masterclass is intended to help teams generate, develop and refine their revolutionary ideas prior to the hackathon. Participants are encouraged to submit their ideas and pre-validate their concepts before the teams start coding, and for a chance to win a $2500 expert mentoring package to attract seed funding.

Applications will be open until 11:59PM PST September 30, 2020. The World Blockchain Hackathon kicks off 7AM PST on October 9 and runs until 5PM October 11, 2020. World Blockchain Hackathon finalists will present their projects to judges as well as international participants of Singapore-based conference Digital Week Online.
