C-Suite executives are increasingly keen on learning what Web3 is about and what opportunities it brings, but many are still not sure where to start, according to a new survey conducted by D2: Decentralization Deciphered.

Web3 technology has created a $3 Trillion global market, and the ensuing community is growing exponentially with blockchain technology leading the way for enterprise business. Blockchain, being the technology powering decentralization, has become the next massive paradigm and philosophical shift for business.

The market is growing and changing rapidly, and it has left many wondering, exactly what is Web3?

Although there are many resources geared at educating the public about Web3 it can be overwhelming. Content tends to be geared towards investors and developers and has left a gap when it comes to educating business leaders.

A New Solution for the C-Suite

D2: Decentralization Deciphered is a new community that wants to bridge that gap. Its goal is to provide education specific to business leaders to educate executives and shorten the onboarding process for Web3 projects.

The Survey: What Executives Want to Learn

D2 surveyed over 500 C-Suite executives and their answers were consistent – they want to know more but they aren’t sure where to start.

One CFO commented, “Blockchain technology is the next logical progression along the tech growth continuum. I’m interested in learning how it will evolve in the corporate world.”

When D2 asked the C-Suite about its biggest areas of general business concern, the top responses included:

  • Digital transformation and how to keep up with new technologies
  • Market stability and the economy
  • How to accelerate growth
  • Ways their organization can stay ahead of the competition
  • How to attract and retain top talent
  • Mitigating taxes, regulation, and risk

Executives indicated they are interested to learn how Web3 technologies can help address these top business concerns. And the need is to better understand the business applications and opportunities that will help to grow businesses and offset current market headwinds.

The CEO at Pinterest stated, “Crypto is something we pay a lot of attention to. As user demand and merchant demand evolves, we’ll evolve with it.”

The D2 survey revealed there is a wide range of educational needs. It’s not just one area executives want to learn more about, it is all areas of Web3 with the foundational components being the most important.

The majority of respondents – an impressive 78%, stated they were actively exploring or engaging in Web3. But there is still a lot to learn.

The CEO of Autobooks shared, “All of these opportunities are great for our business, we first need to know how we fit and then need the people power to keep us ahead of such a rapidly changing space.”
