FreePay is an open-source NFC tap-to-pay terminal that lets merchants accept crypto directly from MetaMask or Coinbase Wallet—bypassing card networks and their typical ~1–2% fees (blockchain network fees still apply).
x402 is Coinbase’s chain-agnostic payment protocol built on HTTP 402 “Payment Required,” enabling instant, pay-per-use stablecoin payments (e.g., USDC) within APIs and agent workflows.
