OKEx Celebrates First Anniversary in Malta with Significant Milestones

This July marks the first anniversary of the establishment of OKEx’s headquarters in Malta.

Since 2018, after launching the new headquarters in Malta, OKEx has teamed up with MSX, the digital and fintech arm of Malta Stock Exchange Holdings, to launch OKMSX.

OKMSX is an institutional grade exchange for security tokens in support of Malta’s “Blockchain Island” initiative, leveraging OKEx’s digital asset operations and technology expertise, along with the Malta Stock Exchange’s extensive experience in regulatory compliance and client due diligence.

After one year of preparation time, now the new exchange is at the final stage of development and is expected to launch in Q1 2020 and service clients globally from Malta.

In celebration of the anniversary, OKEx will join hands with DELTA Summit to co-host the first ever Tech Week in Malta from September 30 to October 4, 2019. DELTA Summit Tech Week brings together visionary minds of frontier tech industries from around the world, including not only blockchain and cryptocurrency sectors, but also AI, IoT, and so on.

Dr. Joseph Muscat, Prime Minister of Malta, Hon. Silvio Schembri, Parliamentary Secretary of Malta, and many industry experts will be speaking during the event. Sponsorship and speaking opportunities are currently open for applications.

With an open regulatory environment, Malta is a welcoming home for many emerging technology start-ups that seek a base for innovations and presenting their ideas to the world.

“Malta is an important hub for us to connect to the European markets. This year marks a significant milestone for us. Over the year, in Malta, we have been working closely with legal and compliance experts, and local authorities to prompt the development of OKMSX. This joint venture marks our confidence in the Maltese government as well as our commitment to providing an efficient, secure, and transparent blockchain trading environment to clients worldwide. We are excited as it is finally happening in 2020,” said Andy Cheung, Head of Operations of OKEx.

“Backed by the strong support from the Maltese government, Delta Summit is one of the world’s most important blockchain events. We look forward to bringing in more insightful discussions and sharing our upcoming plans with the world during the conference.”
