On Tuesday, October 27, 2026, at enXross DAO in Tokyo, the Ethereum Meetup Tokyo returns for its 26th edition with Yuji Kumagai, Soneium Protocol, timed to the days ahead of Devcon.
The evening covers three topics shaping Ethereum’s near-term direction. The first session breaks down the upcoming Glamsterdam upgrade, which entered its final pre-mainnet phase on the Sepolia testnet on October 6, and looks ahead to what is being discussed for the following upgrade, Hegotá. The second session features Yuji Kumagai, Head of Soneium Protocol at the Sony- and Startale-backed L2 Soneium, presenting ERC-8432, a proposed standard for registering IP assets and license terms on-chain so that AI agents can confirm usage rights and execute licensing agreements in a single transaction. The third session brings in Nyx Foundation, one of five parties behind the DeFi Gateway initiative announced on October 2 alongside SMBC Nikko Securities, Nethermind, Uniswap Labs, and Base, to explain the project’s structure and its approach to compliant DeFi access for Japanese investors.
Doors open at 19:15, with the program starting at 19:30 and networking from 20:40 until 21:30. Attendance is free with prior registration. Organized by Fracton Ventures. Business cards are required at check-in.
