Ethereum Engineering Group – What If We Could Run an Entire Linux Stack as Though It Was a Smart Contract?

Welcome to the Ethereum Engineering Group. In this talk, Diego Nahab will discuss the many advantages, disadvantages, challenges, and solutions related to running smart contracts in a VM that can boot Linux and supports non-permissioned arbitration.

Diego is one of the few experts in network programming and high-performance GPGPU, Linux, and more. He holds a PhD from Princeton University and a postdoc at Microsoft Research, with a background of research at IMPA. Diego is making Cartesi possible through his expertise in bringing real architecture and a real-world operating system to the blockchain.

Cartesi is an app-specific rollup protocol with a virtual machine that runs Linux distributions, creating a richer and broader design space for dApp developers. Follow on Twitter or other social channels to keep in the loop on news and developments.
