Debanking affects millions of Australians using digital assets. Join Stand With Crypto Australia on May 28 to learn how the campaign is pushing for change.
Four million Australians use digital assets. Three in four big banks restrict crypto access. Zero legal protections against debanking.
Debanking isn’t a crypto issue. It’s a question of financial fairness, and who gets to decide how Australians spend their own money. Across the country, banks are quietly restricting how people and businesses use their accounts. Unilateral closures. Frozen transfers. Funds locked, with no appeal. Not for fraud, but for lawful activity, like buying digital assets on regulated platforms. Until now there has been no national picture of how widespread this is, and no legislation to stop it.
Stand With Crypto Australia is hosting a live online conversation on what we’re doing to change that. Join David Menz, Digital Asset Policy lead at Stand With Crypto, for a clear walkthrough of the campaign we’re rolling out this quarter, the policy gaps we’re targeting, and how the 27,000-strong advocate base behind us is helping shift the conversation in Canberra.
What we’ll cover
What debanking looks like in Australia today, our three-phase national plan to end debanking: sign the petitions to demonstrate public concern, share your story to build the evidence that doesn’t exist yet, and write to your MP through a coordinated national letter campaign. Where this sits inside the broader Stand With Crypto Australia agenda, alongside the Digital Asset Platform Bill, stablecoin legislation, and the case for treating digital assets as a pillar of Australian productivity.
There will be space for questions throughout.
Who it’s for
Crypto users, founders, builders, partner organisations, policy watchers, anyone who has been debanked, and anyone who wants to understand the push for reform and how to take part.
Free to attend. Limited seats.
Sign the petition while you’re here.
