Speaker Bio:
William Mougayar has over four decades of experience across technology and markets, with deep firsthand exposure to Ethereum’s evolution as an advisor, investor, participant, and avid researcher. He is the author of The Business Blockchain (Wiley, 2016), one of the best and earliest business books on the blockchain (translated into 10 languages), producer of The Token Summit, manager of WMX, an ICONOMI cryptocurrency index, and creator of the Ethereum Market Research Center. He is an advisor or board member to a select number of tech companies. Previously, he held senior positions at Hewlett-Packard, Cognizant, and AberdeenGroup, and founded 3 tech startups. William is a graduate of the University of Washington, the University of Western Ontario Ivey School of Business, and the University of British Columbia Graduate Commerce School.
Mika Nakasawa is the Growth and Partnerships Lead at pafin Inc, the company behind cryptact — a platform trusted by over 150,000 users to simplify crypto tax calculations and portfolio management. In this session, Mika will break down how to identify taxable vs. non-taxable crypto events, including DeFi-specific transactions like staking, liquidity provision, and token swaps. She’ll share practical record-keeping tips, and show how cryptact takes the stress out of tax filing – even for the most complex on-chain activity.
