Chia Toronto 2026 takes place on July 23 at Steam Whistle Tap Room, bringing together Chia community members and crypto enthusiasts for drinks, food, conversation, and a few surprises.
Chia Network is a blockchain platform founded by BitTorrent creator Bram Cohen. It uses a proof-of-space-and-time consensus mechanism, which relies on unused hard drive storage rather than energy-intensive computing power, positioning it as a more environmentally sustainable alternative to traditional proof-of-work blockchains.
