Bitcoin’s Halving Havoc
Bitcoin’s 2024 halving event happened on 19 April 2024. Of the maximum number of 21 million bitcoins that will ever exist, more than 19.5 million have already been distributed, leaving less than 1.5 million left to be mined.
Samourai’s Mixing Mayhem
Bitcoin faces a major legal challenge, as co-founders of Samourai, a non-custodial Bitcoin wallet with privacy features, were arrested on charges of money laundering. Prosecutors allege that the platform facilitated the laundering of over $100 million in proceeds from dark web markets. However, the Samourai software has no control over its users or their funds.
