Bitcoin Commons – Bitcoin Urbanism with Austin Tunnell, Kelly Lannan & Tuur Demeester
How the Bitcoin Standard will change the way we build our houses and cities.
Austin Tunnell, founder Building Culture
Founder & Principal at Building Culture, a design and build firm in Oklahoma City that specializes in mass-wall masonry construction. Inspired by beautiful architecture throughout the world that has lasted millennia, he is developing an alternative building methodology to displace our current, disposable practices in the United States, by blending the best of tradition and innovation, fusing classical practices with modern tech. While it is common to think of development and building as a resource-consuming, destructive force, Austin believes that at its best, architecture enriches, and is an essential ingredient to human flourishing.
Tuur Demeester, founder Adamant Research
An early bitcoin investor and thought leader most known for his deep dive reports. He is a board member of the Texas Bitcoin Foundation as well as advisor to several bitcoin startups. He was the founding partner of early bitcoin alpha fund Adamant Capital, co-founder of the Rothbard Institute, and also helped bootstrap two private K12 schools.
Kelly Lannan, VP of Development at Del Pueblo Communications
Kelly is a bitcoiner who works at his family’s development and construction firm in Scottsdale, Arizona. After being orange-pilled in 2016 follower by a trip to the West Village in Manhattan, Kelly began the journey to retool his understanding of the built environment in Scottsdale and beyond. Today, Kelly writes the Bitcoin Urbanism blog where he covers an array of topics related to the built environment, such as: architecture, design, construction, materials, and planning – all through the lens of Bitcoin’s sound monetary properties and human evolutionary psychology and evolutionary biology.
