The 3rd annual Crafting the Cryptoeconomy Conference takes place on October 29–30 at Columbia University in New York, bringing together researchers, economists, and industry practitioners to explore the evolving intersection of blockchain technology, financial markets, and economic policy.
Hosted by Columbia’s Center for Digital Finance & Technologies and sponsored by the Uniswap Foundation and Avalanche Foundation, the two-day event features a dense program of academic presentations, fireside chats, and keynote addresses spanning some of the most pressing topics in crypto and decentralized finance.
Day one centers on prediction markets, stablecoins, and their broader macroeconomic implications, with speakers from Harvard, Stanford, the IMF, and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission. Day two shifts to the technical and regulatory frontier, covering quantum computing threats to blockchain infrastructure, the Ethereum roadmap, Layer 2 scaling economics, and the tokenization of real-world assets. The closing session features a fireside chat with the Chief Counsel of the SEC Crypto Task Force.
Speakers include academics and practitioners from Columbia, Harvard, NYU Stern, Oxford, Carnegie Mellon, Offchain Labs, Uniswap Labs, and Pantera Capital, among others. The conference is chaired by Agostino Capponi of Columbia University.
