Designed for both newcomers and experienced professionals, this Detroit Blockchain Collective session will demystify how cryptocurrency activity is treated under U.S. tax law.
Owning cryptocurrency creates powerful opportunities — but it also introduces tax obligations that many investors don’t fully understand until filing season arrives.
As digital assets move further into the financial mainstream, cryptocurrency taxation is entering a new era of compliance and reporting requirements.
We’ll walk through how transactions recorded on blockchain networks translate into the traditional reporting framework administered by the Internal Revenue Service.
Attendees will leave with a clear, practical understanding of how to analyze their crypto activity, identify taxable events, and recognize the key considerations involved in properly reporting digital assets for tax purposes.
