Join us at Consensus Hong Kong 2026 for a special edition of the Whitepaper Reading roundtable, hosted at the Hong Kong Ethereum Community Hub. Designed by builders, for builders. We’ll dissect emerging Web3 protocols, primitives and design choices.
Topics:
1. Hegotá Upgrade (EIP-8081):
Ethereum’s next upgrade. We’ll discuss what’s scheduled for inclusion, what’s being considered, and the design trade-offs behind proposals like FOCIL (Fork-choice enforced Inclusion Lists) — a mechanism aimed at improving censorship resistance by shifting inclusion responsibilities away from block proposers.

2. Bulk.Trade
Sol based perp DEX built on a custom validator client architecture. BULK introduces 20ms matching ticks, sub-40ms trade finality, and gasless execution — aiming to bring CEX-level performance to an on-chain order book. We’ll discuss the architecture, how it compares to existing perps DEXs, and whether decoupled execution layers are the future of on-chain derivatives.

Session Led by: Thank you ShuenRui from Impossible Finance, Kuala Lumpur Whitepaper Reading Club Chapter Organizers.
Format:
- A casual, discussion-driven format (not a panel or pitch)
- Key takeaways from selected whitepapers or technical docs
- Honest builder-to-builder conversations
- Open questions, strong opinions and real-world context
- No need to pre-read — curiosity > preparation
Whether you’re a developer, founder, researcher or protocol operator, this is a space to think out loud, challenge assumptions and learn from peers in the Ethereum and broader Web3 ecosystem.
