Hsiao-Wei Wang joined the EF Research team in mid‑2017 as a core Layer‑1 researcher, working on early sharding proofs‑of‑concept and consensus‑protocol design
Wang has been a key contributor to the Beacon Chain and the transition from proof‑of‑work to proof‑of‑stake, playing a visible role across The Merge, Shapella, and Dencun upgrades.
In 2025 she was elevated into EF’s top leadership, becoming an EF board member and then Co‑Executive Director alongside Tomasz Stańczak, with a mandate to increase EF’s operational pace, improve communication, and guide Ethereum through its next phase of scaling L1 and L2 while improving UX.
Led by Yusuf Goolamabbas, Chief Knowledge Officer at Animoca Brands, this event will discuss amongst other things the impact of new leadership on Ethereum’s vision and execution, the recent hard forks Pectra, Fusaka and upcoming Glamsterdam and how Ethereum is evolving with increased interests from large traditional financial institutions.
