The 10th edition of the Bitcoin Maribor Meetup will focus on blockchain technology. Klemen will provide an overview of its origins and development over time and demonstrate how the meaning of this concept has been corrupted today.
Since the inception of Bitcoin, blockchain technology has been embroiled in media frenzy and has turned into a buzzword used to label any new technological project that needs venture capital from angel investors. For this reason, we will attempt to distinguish its original meaning from today’s broader use, to better find the needle in the haystack.
After the event, we will gather at a café where you can meet other members of the Slovenian Bitcoin community and try out how Bitcoin payments work through the lightning network.

Na 10. meetupu skupine Bitcoin Maribor se bomo posvetili tehnologiji blockchain. Klemen bo naredil pregled njenega nastanka in razvoja skozi čas ter pokazal, kako se je pomen tega pojma danes izpridil. Tehnologija veriženja blokov se vse od nastanka bitcoina spopada z medijskim direndajem in se je sprevrgla v modno besedo, s katero se označuje vsak nov tehnološki projekt, ki potrebuje rizični kapital s strani angelskih vlagateljev. S tem razlogom bomo poskusili ločiti njen izvorni pomen od današnje širše uporabe, da lažje najdemo iglo v kopici sena.
Po dogodku se bomo podružili v kavarni, kjer se boste lahko spoznali s preostalimi člani slovenske bitcoin skupnosti in preizkusili, kako delujejo bitcoin plačila preko omrežja lightning.
