Welcome to the Brighton Bitcoin Meetup, with Yannick joining us to help shed some light on the tax implications of interacting with the Bitcoin network.
Yannick is an independent software developer who built his own solution to help him calculate his Bitcoin taxes in the UK, learning a thing or two in the process.
“In this world nothing can be said to be certain, except death and taxes”. While Benjamin Franklin would most definitely add “21 million” to that list nowadays, taxes still have to be reckoned with and when it comes to Bitcoin, HMRC’s rules can get confusing pretty quickly.
In this talk we’ll first cover the hairy bits you don’t need to know so that the things you actually need to know will feel like a relief in the second part.
You’ll learn just enough that you can confidently navigate the space between your Bitcoin activity and what will ultimately deal with the hard parts, be it an accountant or an application.
Following the workshop, we invite you to unwind, connect with like-minded individuals, and engage in captivating discussions about all things Bitcoin. This is the perfect opportunity to network, exchange ideas, and deepen your understanding of the bitcoin space.
